MIDWEST FAMILY SKI RESORTS INVITE GUESTS TO SEE FALL IN FULL COLOR ACROSS THREE MIDWEST DESTINATIONS
Scenic Gondola and Chairlift Rides and Fall Programming Available at Lutsen Mountains, Snowriver Mountain Resort, and Granite Peak
GRANITE PEAK, WI, UNITED STATES, (PERLA) -- With fall colors expected to peak across the Midwest in September and October, Granite Peak (Wisconsin), Lutsen Mountains (Minnesota), and Snowriver Mountain Resort (Michigan's Upper Peninsula) are each offering scenic chairlift and gondola rides, giving guests panoramic autumn views and easy access to some of the region's best hiking trails.
"Our mountains are just as beautiful in the fall as they are covered in snow," said Charles Skinner, President and Owner of Midwest Family Ski Resorts. "Between the scenic rides, the trails, and just being out in that kind of color, fall is one of the most spectacular times to visit our resorts. It's the perfect time for families to slow down and spend a weekend outside together."
At Granite Peak in Wisconsin, guests can ride to the highest lift-served vantage point in the state and take in Rib Mountain's autumn color from above. There's a 60-foot observation tower at the top, where miles of color stretch out in every direction. Scenic chairlift rides run September 25 through October 25, 2026, with more dates added if weather allows.
At Snowriver Mountain Resort in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, guests can take in sweeping views of the season's color aboard the Voyageur Express, the U.P.'s only high-speed lift. Fall rides are available weekends (Friday - Sunday) September 11 - October 16, 2026. Guests looking to experience the beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula can take advantage of the U.P. Getaway Package, available through October 31, 2026. The package includes a 10% discount on two-night stays, while guests who extend their visit to three nights or more will enjoy 20% savings on lodging. All packages feature complimentary daily breakfast at Legacy at Jackson Creek.
At Lutsen Mountains on Minnesota's North Shore, foliage-seekers can enjoy one of the best views in the state from the Summit Gondola, which travels from the main base area to Moose Mountain above the Poplar River valley, with expansive views of the Sawtooth Mountains and Lake Superior. Guests can stop for a snack, lunch, or drink inside or out on the deck of Summit Chalet overlooking the lake. The gondola runs daily now through October 18, plus October 24 and 31, with extended hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 19 and 26 and October 3 and 10.
