The Deek and Batta has unveiled Draft Kings — a landmark addition to Jordan's food and beverage scene and the country's first dedicated draft beer bar. Housed within the restaurant's vibrant diplomatic quarter location, Draft Kings is not simply a bar; it is a statement about Jordan's growing craft beer culture and its place on the world stage.

Draft Kings currently features eight taps — with expansion to twelve planned — pouring a carefully curated selection that places local and craft Jordanian beers side by side with internationally recognized names including Heineken and Stella Artois. The message is deliberate: Jordan's brewers belong in that conversation.
Jordanian Craft on Tap: Two Local Firsts
Among Draft Kings' eight taps, two standout Jordanian offerings embody the bar's mission to champion local brewing. The first is Petra Gluten Free — Jordan's first gluten-free beer, and a timely addition as Amman heads into summer. For health-conscious guests, those with dietary requirements, or anyone working on their summer fitness goals, Petra Gluten Free ensures that no one misses out on a quality cold draft. Alongside it pours the exclusive on-tap debut of Dead Sea-rious by Carakale — a craft lager brewed with real lemon juice and Dead Sea salt, available nowhere else in Jordan on draft. The beer pays homage to a beloved Jordanian ritual: ice-cold draft beer with a squeeze of lemon and a salted rim. Dead Serious distils that tradition into a single, perfectly engineered brew.

Draft Kings was designed from the ground up by Neal Zureikat, who draws on his experience as a partner in Angry Scotsman, a craft brewery based in Oklahoma, USA. The bar's architecture prioritizes the integrity of each pour — with systems engineered for ease of service, consistent line maintenance, and optimal freshness from keg to glass. The result is a bar that looks as good as the beer it serves.

The Deek and Batta — Arabic for The Rooster and The Duck — is Amman's only British-American gastropub rooted in Jordanian identity. Located in the heart of the diplomatic quarter, steps from the British, American, German and Australian embassies, the restaurant was founded by Neal Zureikat and his wife Noor, both Jordanians who were raised and educated in the United States and United Kingdom. Their dual cultural upbringing is the soul of the concept.

The name pays homage to centuries-old British pub tradition of animal-named establishments — a heritage the founders wanted to honor and carry forward. The menu reflects the dual personality of the Rooster and the Duck: the 'Deek' side features bold, hearty pub fare with a local twist — think USDA beef burgers with Jordanian cheese, grilled chicken wings with za'atar — while the 'Batta' side offers lighter, Jordanian-inspired dishes with a Spanish tapas sensibility, including sunshine arayes and falafel tacos.
